Unlike traditional tag-team games, your entire team of four shares a single shared health bar called the Vital Gauge. This gauge extends as more of your team becomes accessible during the match. At the start, you only control your lead character; to "Assemble" the 3rd and 4th members, you must fulfill specific conditions such as performing a Wall Break/Stage Transition, landing a throw, or losing a round.

What is the "Assemble" system?

The Assemble button (X) is a contextual assist mechanic. When pressed, your assist characters will automatically perform the most suitable action for that moment whether it is an offensive strike, a defensive cover, or a combo-extender. You can swap control to an assist character during a brief window after they have been called into battle.

Does the game have a story mode?

Yes. Episode Mode is a single-player narrative experience developed in collaboration with a renowned Marvel Comics writer. It uses a unique "motion comic" format featuring manga-style art illustrated by celebrated artists. On PS5, this mode utilizes haptic feedback and Tempest 3D AudioTech to deliver a tactile storytelling experience.
